Round & Round, Rotterdam

I just made a new promise to my cousins; that we would do something nice with all of us together once a month. I actually have 7 cousins, beside the youngest (2 year), we will do something nice together. The second youngest is 8 and today is the first time I took her and her sister to have cake and tea. Previous she was still too young and really attached to her mom, so yeah. Now she gets to hangout with her cool cousins :P.

We went to Round & Round, a super adorable cake & craft cafe on the Hoogstraat. It opened about a week ago and the interior is simple, but very lovely.

Belated Birthday diner – HMB, Rotterdam

Friday I was finally able to meet up with one of my besties, I’ve known since middle school. We went from seeing each other everyday to seeing each other once every two or three months ever since we graduated from high school. From my birthday back in Augustus, we would have diner at HMB in Rotterdam and it was so difficult trying to pick a date. So three months later we were finally able to have diner at HMB. Even though we try to meet up more often, it’s just difficult as she is working a lot and I’m still studying in Amsterdam and working as well. We call almost every other day, so it doesn’t feel like we haven’t seen each other for a long time.

No matter how many times I see it, I still can’t get enough of this view!

Girls’ Night Out

Every once in a while, every girl needs a girls’ night out. It doesn’t matter how many girlfriends you spend your time with. What does matter is the female companion whom you can trust and can share your feelings, emotions, and life with. We all need that kind of female support where we don’t have to prove ourselves continuously, like the reality where we somehow have to justify why we are doing what we are doing (if you know what I mean). Having a girls’ night out usually involves a lot eating, drinking and interesting stories. For me, the perfect girls night is spending the night at the girlfriend home and eat-drink-eat-drink XD. So last Friday I had a reunion with my girlfriends whom I don’t see or talk that often as we used to, but when we are reunited it feels like the old times =). We all lead a different life, we all have distinct personalities where we approach life differently yet we still manage to maintain this friendship because we simply respect each other. For me that’s friendship, respecting each other and accepting for who they are no matter in what phase they are in life.

The night started at a new burger restaurant in Rotterdam: Ellis Gourmet Burger. The burgers, fries and the home made ice tea were great! I chose the trio mini burger, which included the classic, chicken and lamb burger. Out of the three burgers, the lamb burger was definitely the most delicious one. The ambience was cozy, but the staff was pretty stressed and chaotic. Obviously they lacked in manpower, since there were only two personnel in a full booked restaurant. We had to wait quite a while before we could actually order, and when we wanted to order dessert, we were told to wait which we did but after a while we just decided to go and have dessert somewhere else. Having said this, you could see the personnel doing their best they can, but the stress got the best of them. I would still want to go back to this place, primarily wanting to taste their ice burger, but maybe on a Monday instead on a Friday =)

Afterwards we went to NHOW bar, where you can choose a wide variety of drink/ cocktails. I would definitely recommended this place to everybody mainly due to the ambience. It’s a nice place where you can hang out and just relax. We had our dessert (Tiramisu with coffee chocolate mouse and Pear with Lavender Sabayon and maple caramel ice cream), which was quite disappointing, because I was expecting a more “WOW” taste, but it was quite average. However the plating were lovely!

What I’ve been doing?

Hi all~!

There has been quite a big gap between august and now. I just wanted to catch up with what I’ve been doing lately 🙂
Mid-juli my internet died on me and it was only fixed somewhere mid september!!! That’s the reason for my lack of updates, not because I was too lazy :p
I haven’t been sitting still though!! In September I started my master at the VU in Amsterdam and it has been taking up most of my time up till now (the time I do have left, I usually use it for sleeping xD).

Anyhow, I thought it would be fun to show you guys what I’ve done, eat, see for the past couple of weeks 🙂 My apologizes for the low quality of the following pictures, if they do 😛 they were al taken with my phone, while on the go ^^

I’ve had a drink with a friend at nHow a few weeks. We’re currently working on something very exciting!! That’s what I’ve been doing with the rest of our time 🙂 #WorkHardPlayHard 😉

Paris est magnifique – Part Two

The past two week were really hectic!! It took me forever to write part two of my trip *Sobs and asks for forgiveness*
If you haven’t read part one, you can read it here 🙂

After our lunch at KONG we continued our adventure and headed toward Trocadéro. We were so lucky with the weather!!! The weather was super gorgeous! Beside Friday we only had a lot of sunshine in Paris.
This was in fact my first time at Trocadéro. We went there instead, cuz it was crazily busy at Eiffel Tower! And it was actually much nicer to sit in the gardens of Trocadéro.

Beautiful Garden and Weather!
